Seungcheol Week 5 Day 7 Log:

We had Hansol and Seungkwan look at Junhui after your last update. It's looking like he'll probably be fine, but they're having people rotate in and out of monitoring him while he sleeps because his breathing has been unsteady.

Jeonghan is fine but a little snappy. He did seem to discover a new kind of hydroid—this one, to everyone's knowledge, does not sting. The stinging fern has been put away in a closet in the Research Lab, where hopefully no one else will touch it, on purpose or by accident.

Everyone's spirits are higher after the miscellaneous box. It's actually really nice to remember that this is temporary and—

[BANG]

I'm... gonna go check on that.

[Silence]

Okay, Panel A-2 took a big hit. Not sure from what, I couldn't see anything on the radar or through the windows. I'm going to send Chan into the cockpit to keep an eye out. Sorry for this abrupt ending, looks like we have some stuff to work on right now.

End log.

Mingyu Week 5 Day 7 Log

Hey hyung. Sorry, this probably isn't how you wanted to hear from me for the first time in a while. iIm going out to do some emergency repairs on panel A-2. I know we don't have full materials for it, but we have scraps from A-3's repair and I think some work is better than nothing. Shua-hyung was a little nervous ,but if we just leave it it'll get worse, so... I'm going to do what I can. I'm trained in this kind of thing, and we just need to shore it up enough to avoid some kind of system failure. Might be a little complicated, but I think I can do it.

We're okay, though, really. Whatever happens I know we can get through it. I hope you're not worrying too much. We're the SVT crew! We trained for worse than this.

Jihoon-hyung has been talking about an instant link and like, working on that lately. Do you really think it's possible? I guess we'll have to find out if he makes progress... that would be cool, though, right? We all miss you a lot. I mean, it would be helpful for the mission too of course. Just, you know. Six weeks is a long time! Longer down here, I think. We're doing okay, though. I should get going anyway, Myunho offered to help me suit up and I should take him up on it, those things are annoying and bulky.

That's it for today from me. Our radar didn't pick anything up when the impact happened, but if you hear anything— could you let us know? All of us? Cheol-hyung tries to protect us but whatever it is, I'm not scared.

End log.

Hansol Week 5 Day 7 Log

Hey, thanks for telling us Junhui was hurt. He kept telling us it wasn't a big deal, but his respiratory system has been struggling and it got abruptly worse last night. He was wheezing just walking from the Command Room to the Accommodations Room earlier. And when he showed us the sting... well, there's a reason I'm doing this log and not Kwannie. It freaked him out pretty badly. He's probably still nagging Jun-hyung about it right now.

We set up a rotation of people to wake him up if he stops breathing at night. Iknow we still have one more flora zone to explore—a week of travel and then some time to collect and analyze samples, right? Ha, hyungs always say i don't listen... I paid attention to that from the briefing, at least. I think Jun-hyung should be okay for at least that long. We're still looking through the Research Team's books to see what we can find on long-term effects of stinging fern injuries that developed into infections. I'm heading there right after I finish recording this, actually.

In terms of excursion planning, I've been thinking about ways we can reduce injury risk. It could help to do pair excursions—I know we try not to send out two people at once, but our oxygen stores are fine and the last excursion was on the shorter side, so I think it's doable. It could make both of them feel safer and allow for some real-time reality checking.

Let me know if you want me to draft something more substantial about that, I totally can. Also, I fixed the lights, so the sub's well lit again!

Oh, and thanks for the stuff you sent. It really... we needed
that I think. Yeah. Okay. Talk later.

End log.

Submarine Status Update:

Status Reports are completed by Crew Engineer I (Joshua Hong) and Crew Engineer II (Kim Mingyu) with support from general crew members Kwon Soonyoung, Xu Minghao, and Chwe Hansol. In cases where crew members are not in agreement, Crew Engineer I will settle disputes and finalize the report.

Week 5 Day 7: An impact with Panel A-2 from an unknown source has damaged it and compromised its structural integrity. While the submarine does have emergency failsafes in place should a panel be damaged beyond repair, we are looking to avoid that. Mingyu has been dispatched to use materials from former Panel A-3 to execute emergency repairs.

Key:
Green: Up to date
orange: possible concern
red: warning

Green: Panels A-1, A-3, A-5 through A-7 B-1 through B-6, All C Panels, All D Panels, Headlight, Cockpit + Scope

Orange: Panels A-4 and B-7

Jeonghan Week 5 Day 4 Log:

Before you freak out, I'm fine. And I got several samples that I didn't recognize, so we're going to sort through those today and log anything new. To me, that's a mission success.

Also, though, since I'm sure the others will mention it, I did see something out there. Let me just explain what happened. I went out, and everything seemed pretty normal—picked up some samples, collected some of the sand and soil, and took some temperature readings of the water. The suit is bulky, so I was already slow-moving, but when I turned fully away from the submarine, behind the engine, I saw... I don't know what I saw exactly. It was a dark shape, faceless, but I could feel it looking at me. Or— watching me, maybe. Ah, I sound ridiculous, I can't believe my voice is shaking about this. But there really was something there. I wouldn't lie.

I think some of the others think I'm lying.

When I twisted away from it, my ankle got caught on some rocks, and by the time I was back on board it was the size of a pomegranate. Seungkwannie wrapped me up, though. Funny that you sent medical supplies, we ended up needing them. Thanks, Wonwoo-yah.

Oh, and Channie came to visit while I was getting fixed up. I guess he was scared since I was gone for longer than we'd planned. He even cried and apologized for being a brat, it was sweet.

That's all. Something's weird here, but I'm fine, really.
If you need me, call on me.

End log.

Minghao Week 5 Day 4 Log:

Hi hyung. I haven't done one of these in a few weeks, but Seungcheol-hyung asked me to update you on our resource situation.

Medical supplies are slightly overstocked as of today—we had to pull out some things for Jeonghan-hyung, but he's better now and he didn't need that many supplies. Um, research equipment is fine for plants. I'm not sure... if we want to look more into what hyung said he saw out there. Or how we would do that. But I know these recording devices are technically research equipment, so if you think getting more logs would be helpful then maybe that would work. For repair parts, the engineering team says we're fine. Personally, I think we could use some reinforcement pieces for panels A-2 and A-4 since they weren't in much better shape than A-3 pre-repairs, but they don't think there's anything to worry about it.

Yeah, um. That's pretty much it. I was thinking about the miscellaneous things you sent last week. I know it's a stretch, but maybe if things quiet down sometime... if you could send— ah, this is embarrassing. I'm just a little homesick, but it's— I know it's impractical. Sorry, ignore me.

Well, that's the update. Otherwise I think we're doing okay. I'm a little worried about Mingyu overworking himself, but if it's not him it's someone else. We're all a little self-sacrificing sometimes. Seungcheol-hyung especially, he's seemed so tired lately.

We'll look after him. And after each other. I'll make sure
everyone is okay, so you don't have to worry so much.
Take care, hyung.

End log.

Seungcheol Week 5 Day 4 Log:

Jeonghan is hurt. I assume you listened to his log first, but in case you didn't, you should know that's he sprained his left ankle and needed it wrapped. He'll be fine, just scared us. I'm pulling him out of the scouting rotation until he's fully healed up.

On the bright side, he and Chan made up. I'm not sure what they said to each other, but no one's mad. I think Joshua was in there too. No more betting over dish duty, so that's one worry out of the way.

The atmosphere here is... ah, how do I put it? A little tense. Jeonghan said he saw something that looked almost human. Featureless, I guess. It could've been a weird shadow, a plant, I don't know. Whatever it was, it really spooked him, and he doesn't scare easy.

Sorry if I sound tired. I didn't sleep well again last night. I'm fine, really, just— like I said, things are tense. And Jun was up coughing for a couple hours at the start of our sleep shift, so that kept us all up longer than we wanted. Not his fault, of course.

Anyway... I wish I had better news. Everyone's settling back into routines, but we could use some guidance. Otherwise, I don't have much else to say aside from asking: Wonwoo-yah, are you taking care of yourself? I hope you are. Please let me know.

End log.
