just a leetle post

hello friends, happy june 20th! i have read over 500 pages between two books today and am about to go to sleep but i wanted to say hello and show a sign of life on here. i really like dreamwidth! i want to use it more consistently, so here's an attempt at that.

first a request. how do you to the little > thing that opens into an indented block of text. it's like a read more cut but fancier. i feel like that's what cool kids do and i want to be cool as well.

second an update. i finished one last stop today! i liked it much more than i was anticipating and cried infinitely more than expected (i expected zero). it was healing to read something so queer even if the politics were a little [everyone sing a happy song together and the world will be perfect]. better in that regard than rwrb but yknow, still imperfect. i do think mcquiston gets a lot of flak straight authors don't though, and overall i enjoyed myself thoroughly, so it was a cheerful 4 star read for me. i'm also now 140 pages into she who became the sun which is, as advertised by everyone i know who's read it, an absolute banger of a fantasy novel. i almost dnfed early for triggering content reasons (feel free to poke me if u want specifics, it's a very Me issue and does not detract from the quality of the book!) but i'm glad i stuck it out because it's great. i have until tomorrow night to get this thing read and returned to the library after renewing my hold twice lol so i'm gonna read for another 30 mins or so after this and then read more before work. and during lunch. and then also after work. we can do this!

otherwise i'm vibing. i love my new apartment ;__; and my location. it's so lovely. i went from certainly wanting to go back to previous city i lived in in december to wanting quite badly actually to find a way to stay. everyone wish me luck. outside of my bedroom window is a garden. i walked to a coffee shop and the library yesterday and then wandered an orchard for a solstice party in the afternoon. lovely lovely.

that's all for now! i'm still writing. still watching 2 kids room. will be a lil quieter on twitter for a bit prob, but that's never saying much. it just feels like a season of frantically refreshing less. very "we have lee know at home" vibes (the home is my brain where i peacefully think about him).

what are y'all up to? reading? enjoying? feel free to ramble in the comments i love hearing it.

twig!!! hi hello it's always delightful to see you post on dreamwidth, I love this platform. I'm refreshing it as I scroll through social media before bed. I'm not sure which > you're talking about, either a cut:
or a details drop down:

(idk if these examples are going to work the way they are previewing rn, so let me know if this comment's html breaks)

I'm so glad you have things to enjoy and an orchard to walk through and a place to want to stay! and also linos to think about! have you been thinking of any moments in particular? I started she who became the sun a while ago so it's a delight to hear you're reading it. good luck finishing it before it's due!

wow ok it is getting later than I thought and I am falling asleep over this comment, spent too much time on the html haha. not much going on with me, I moved back from college recently (last quarter!) so that was nice and I'm starting my internship tomorrow (today technically??). I just finished soft science by franny choi which was amazing. sending you many good vibes!!! <3

What a lovely post to read! Thank you for sharing. ♡ It would be lovely to see you more on Dreamwidth but things also get busy so please find what works best for you. As you can see, I meant to comment on this when you posted and (checks calendar) it's been a bit.

I'm glad that the details dropdown was what you were looking for and found. If you want a general idea of CSS and HTML that works for Dreamwidth, there's a great guide by girlrock: GUIDE TO DREAMWIDTH HTML/CSS.

Your apartment sounds so lovely; having green space outside and close by is so lovely. ♡

I feel like I'm juggling too many projects right now, but I hope things can calm down soon! Someone recently recced The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited (anime is on Crunchyroll) and I wached an episode and then jumped right into fic, so that was fun for the fic but too bad in terms of finding an anime to watch again (the anime is probably great! I'm just not in the mood I guess).

At the very very moment I'm stuck on a vid, so that is what I shall hopefully do for the rest of the afternoon.
