I'm sure I will be thinking about this for a long time because I'm a complete sucker for the type of conflict-less h/c you described in this post! Like there are certain times when I crave it. I don't know what is so addictive about it? Maybe (probably) it's the projection onto the character being comforted: it feels nice to have been punched around a little too much and then gotten that dose of a perfect medicine without any words. I am addicted I have a problem lmao
While I haven't written fiction in some time now, I think you've described beautiful relationship progress!! that type of conflict is so difficult to write but it really shows how characters make efforts for each other, how their love or friendship is believable because they made it real. I love exploring hurt but I ultimately feel useless at conflict, so this was a really enriching read to me! thanks for sharing it <3 <3
